How it works

Cross-border payments, simplified

Connect a wallet, tell us where the money should land, and confirm — we handle the conversion and the payout rails.

01

Get your quote

Choose an amount and a destination to get a live rate and a flat 1.5% fee — no account required to look.

02

Pay from your wallet

Link a self-custody wallet holding USDC on Celo and confirm the transfer straight from your stablecoin balance. It settles in seconds.

03

They receive local currency

Our licensed partner converts and pays out to a bank account or mobile money wallet — typically within minutes.

Don't have a wallet yet, or sending a large amount? — we'll help you get set up or handle it directly.

Modern payment rails

Built on stablecoin settlement — not legacy SWIFT delays or correspondent-bank chains.

African payout corridors

Send from USD or CAD into Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya today — plus NGN ↔ GHS ↔ KES intra-Africa. Coming soon: Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and more. See the live rate now and we'll let you know when they open.

Transparent pricing

Live mid-market reference shown next to every quote so you can always compare.

Real humans, fast

WhatsApp or email from real people — no chatbots. Payouts usually land in minutes.

Why straitPay costs less

One flat fee. Nothing hidden.

Legacy providers stack an FX markup on top of wire fees, card charges and receiving-bank lifts. We charge a single flat 1.5% and leave the rest off your bill.

Verifiable & transparent

Every leg of the transfer is auditable. No black boxes between sender and recipient.

FAQ

Quick answers

Get in touch
Do I need a digital wallet?+

Yes — the transfer is funded from a self-custody wallet holding USDC on the Celo network. MetaMask, Trust Wallet and OKX Wallet all connect through WalletConnect. If you don't have one yet, talk to us and we'll help you get set up.

How do you settle transfers so quickly?+

Your payment moves as USDC, a regulated digital dollar pegged 1:1 to the US dollar, and settles on a low-cost network in seconds instead of days — which is how we sustain a flat 1.5% with no other charges. Your recipient never needs to know: they just see local currency arrive — Naira in their bank, Cedi or Shilling on mobile money.

Which corridors can I send?+

Live today: USD or CAD → Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya. Every other corridor shows an indicative rate right on the homepage so you can plan — talk to us and we'll let you know when it opens.

How fast does the recipient get paid?+

Most bank and mobile-money payouts complete within minutes of your on-chain payment confirming.

Is there a separate FX markup?+

No. The rate you see is the rate we use, and the only charge is the flat 1.5% fee shown on your quote.

Is this regulated?+

Yes. We operate through licensed local payout partners in each destination country and run full KYC/AML checks on cross-border payments.
